Head Women’s Soccer Coach
Salary Range: Commensurate with experience and qualifications

Institutional Mission
The purpose of Southwestern Assemblies of God University is to prepare undergraduate and graduate students spiritually, academically, professionally, and cross culturally so as to successfully fill evangelistic, missionary and church ministry roles and to provide quality educational and professional Christian service wherever needed throughout the world.

Primary Function:
The Head Women’s Soccer Coach at Southwestern Assemblies of God University is responsible for the overall administration, team and player development, and academic integrity of the football program. The successful candidate will oversee an NAIA/NCCAA affiliated program in a Christ-centered environment intentional about recruiting, retaining and developing young women toward a Christian worldview.

Major Responsibilities
·         Recruitment and retention of quality student-athletes that fit the mission and scope of SAGU
·         Develop and maintain a competitive intercollegiate program
·         Limit program attrition and maintain roster stability through retention of student-athletes
·         Monitor and support student-athlete academic progress
·         Ensure that institutional/NAIA/NCCAA/SAC rules and regulations are followed, with no major violations
·         Manage program budget as identified prior to the start of each academic year
·         Manage team fundraising activities
·         Oversee and support team involvement in community service
·         Manage related program administrative duties, including: compliance, equipment inventory, practice/game scheduling and requirements of related support service areas (i.e. SID, AT, facilities and game management)
·         Possible teaching assignment in sports management or physical education major areas
·         Other duties as assigned by athletic director or institution
Organizational Relationship
·         Reports directly to and is accountable to the athletic director
·         Oversight of women’s soccer team

Qualifications:
·         Affirm the mission and distinctives of SAGU through lifestyle and program development.
·         Have a minimum of a Master’s; a Bachelor’s degree will be considered.
·         Possess 5+ years soccer coaching experience with collegiate coaching experience preferred.
·         Teaching experience a plus
·         Possess excellent written and oral communication skills, computer proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Employment is subject to an introductory period to monitor employee performance
  • Must be able to operate a licensed motor vehicle and possess a valid state driver’s license or have access to reliable transportation. Must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record
  • Will be evaluated annually
