Level G-04

Salary Range:  $10 - $18 per hour

Institutional Mission

The purpose of Southwestern Assemblies of God University is to prepare undergraduate and graduate students spiritually, academically, professionally, and cross culturally so as to successfully fill evangelistic, missionary and church ministry roles and to provide quality educational and professional Christian service wherever needed throughout the world.

Primary Function

Under moderate supervision, the Administrative Assistant provides specific administrative support to the Dean of the College of Music and Communication Arts, and general programming oversight to the multiple user communities of the new World Communications Center.

Major Responsibilities

·         Support the Dean of CMCA in administration of the college and its respective department chairs and faculty

-   Assist in the scheduling of college meetings, and the recording, approval and publishing of meeting minutes

-   Manage the approval process for course and program development for the academic departments within the CMCA

-   Support the Dean in assessing the performance of academic departments and related Institutional Effectiveness activities

-   Assist in tracking college expenditures and provide support for the annual budgeting process

-   Generally facilitate productivity and communication on behalf of the Dean

·         Manage the editing and publication of a new, electronic publication for the college to include highlights and features from the Music, Communication Arts, English/FL and Media Services departments

·         Collaborate with SAGU Marketing to promote the achievements of the CMCA

·         Collaborate cross-departmentally to recruit and schedule WCC events involving outside parties

·         Coordinate activities of CMCA student workers

·         Assist in the recruiting of prospective faculty


 

Organizational Relationship

·         Reports directly to the Dean

 

Qualifications

·         Must work well with college administrators, faculty, staff and students.  This position will be part of “the face” of the CMCA

·         People oriented while efficient and attentive to detail

·         Prompt

·         Must be able to navigate and be productive in complex organizational processes and workflows

·         Competency in the Microsoft Office suite is essential, particularly Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Outlook.  Experience with prezi considered a plus

·         Proficient in use of Microsoft Outlook for scheduling and assigning and tracking of tasks

·         Able to utilize the Web and browser tools to conduct internet-based research (i.e., Google Scholar, Zotero, electronic libraries)

·         Some bookkeeping experience preferred

·         Excellent organizational and telephone skills

·         Able to multi-task and maintain focus in an environment frequented by interruptions

·         Undergraduate degree preferred
